Live Event Host London: Hosting Legal Geek Since 2022
There are some events you host once, have a brilliant time and move on from. And then there are the ones you get to grow with.
I first stepped onto the Legal Geek stage as an event host in London in 2022. Since then, I've had the pleasure of returning to host their events again and again — with that relationship eventually taking me beyond London to Legal Geek events in Chicago and Amsterdam.
And that repeat relationship is something I'm incredibly proud of.
Bringing the right energy to a live conference

Legal Geek's London conference isn't your traditional corporate conference — and that's one of the reasons I love hosting it.
Bringing together thousands of people from across law, technology and innovation, the event combines serious industry conversations with a much less serious approach to how a conference should feel.
It's fast-paced, ambitious, inclusive and full of personality.
My role as host goes far beyond simply introducing the next person onto the stage. I'm there to connect all the moving parts: welcoming the audience, interviewing guests, introducing speakers, keeping a packed programme moving and, importantly, maintaining the energy in the room throughout the day.
That's a big part of what I'm booked to do.
A conference can have brilliant speakers and fascinating content, but it still needs someone to bring everything together. I want the audience to feel included in what's happening on stage, the speakers to feel they're in safe hands and the whole day to keep moving without ever becoming too corporate or, dare I say it, stuffy.
Professional? Absolutely.
Predictable? Hopefully not.

From Prime Ministers to Spice Girls
One of the great privileges of hosting live events is the extraordinary range of people I've been able to meet, introduce and interview.
At Legal Geek, that has included Spice Girl Mel B, Joe Wicks and former Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, alongside fascinating leaders and experts from the worlds of law, technology, business and government.
Those conversations can be very different.
One minute you might be introducing a serious discussion about the future of an industry; the next you're interviewing one of the most recognisable women in British pop culture.
That's where my background as a broadcaster becomes particularly useful.
I'm comfortable interviewing high-profile guests, moderating conversations with industry experts and speaking directly to an audience of thousands — but I approach all three in much the same way.
Listen properly. Ask the right question. Know when to move things along. And create an atmosphere where both the person you're interviewing and the people watching feel part of the conversation.
Because ultimately, great live events are about people.

What does a professional event host actually bring to a conference?
There might be a meticulously planned running order, but live events are exactly that: live.
Timings change. Conversations run over. Technology occasionally has other ideas. A speaker might need another moment. An audience might need an injection of energy after lunch.
And sometimes something happens that wasn't in the script at all.
A good conference host is constantly listening, watching and adapting.
My background as a TV and radio presenter has been invaluable. I'm comfortable thinking on my feet, interviewing people, working to tight timings and communicating with production teams while still making what's happening on stage feel natural and effortless to the audience.
For me, that's the difference between simply introducing speakers and actually hosting a room.
The best event hosting shouldn't feel like someone reading a script between sessions. There should be a personality running through the day — someone taking the audience by the hand, making them feel welcome and keeping them interested in what comes next.
From London to Chicago and Amsterdam
What began with Legal Geek in London has since taken me across the Atlantic to host Legal Geek in Chicago and across Europe to host Legal Geek Europe in Amsterdam.
There's something particularly special about being asked back by a client — and even more so when that relationship grows internationally.
Different cities and audiences bring different energy, but my approach remains the same: do the preparation, understand the people in the room, know what the event is trying to achieve and then bring warmth, clarity and plenty of energy to the stage.
I want speakers to feel they're in safe hands, production teams to know I'll keep things moving and audiences to feel they're part of the event rather than simply watching it.
That's the atmosphere I try to create every time I walk onto a stage.
More than an MC
Increasingly, clients aren't simply looking for someone who can stand on stage and introduce speakers.
My work includes live event hosting, conference MCing, celebrity interviews, panel moderation, fireside chats, audience interaction and presenting to camera for filmed and hybrid events.
That combination of live-event and broadcast experience means I can move comfortably between a packed conference stage, an intimate one-to-one interview and a piece directly to camera.
And I think that's one of the reasons I've loved working with Legal Geek since 2022.
Their events have personality. They want people to learn something, meet someone, feel included and leave feeling energised.
That's exactly the kind of room I love hosting.
